1. In tradition or conventional
face-to-face education the teacher and pupils always have
an interaction and the pupils can ask directly to his/ her teacher an
din tradition it can cover the three domains which is cognitive, effective and
psychomotor. While in distance education it only covers the cognitive and psychomotor.
Distance learning has the capacity to reach many people in a more
cost-effective manner than traditional classroom instruction.
2. The benefits of distance learning
- saves’
your money and time
- Complete
most of the classes at your convenience time.
- you
don't have to live in the same place where the institute is located
- for
slow and quick learners this reduces stress and increases satisfaction
- we
can use our comfortable furniture in home while enjoying free movement and
a chance to further your education
- cheaper
than attending a traditional college
3. Four types of interaction
Learner-Content Interaction- takes
place between the student and the content, or the subject matter that
is delivered to him or her.Interaction with content takes place when the
learner, with the help of the teacher or the teaching institution, establishes
new knowledge by encountering new information and combining it with the body of
knowledge already retained by him or her.
Learner-Instructor- This interaction is transpires between student and instructor is intended to help reinforce student understanding of the material. Instructors
can help students clarify unclear points and reinforce correct interpretation
of course information. Interaction is transmitted by electronic means such
as chat discussion or e-mail communications. Unlike the traditional classroom
where the instructor takes the center stage as a lecturer, in distance
education, the instructor becomes more of a facilitator.
Learner-learner
- interaction is done by students between a web-based
learning and a traditional classroom setting. Teamwork or
collaborative learning involves students working together in groups to complete
academic requirements. This form of learner-learner interaction is intended to
promote understanding of the course content and stimulate critical learning.
Learner-Technology/System
– In order to effectively participate in distance
education, learners must be computer-literate.
4. " interaction is
the key component of this use of the technology to support a more social
learning, negotiations meaning through interaction with peers over
distance, forming a sense of community using technology."-
Amirian
With out technology in
distance education, this will not be possible, because only technology
connect the learner and the instructor.
